Questions About Luxury Crewed Chartering?

Our all-inclusive luxury crewed yacht charters are thoughtfully curated to offer you the ultimate luxury experience. Your package includes:

  • Your Yacht – A private yacht with premium accommodation and plush bedding, towels, and high-end amenities.
  • Your Crew – A professional captain and gourmet chef. Larger yachts may also include a deckhand and/or stewardess.
  • Food & Beverages – Gourmet 5-star meals, snacks, beverages, and a standard ship’s bar curated by your onboard private chef.
  • Activities – All charters include a variety of water toys onboard, these will be explicitly laid out for you during the enquiry stage. Some yachts also offer scuba diving, yoga instruction, or massage therapy onboard and are happy to organize land-based adventures for you if needed.
  • Customized Menus – Your chef will create a menu to suit your group’s preferences, allergies, dietary needs and most importantly, your taste buds!

Absolutely. Before your charter, you’ll complete a detailed preference sheet covering food, drinks, allergies, and dietary needs. Your private chef will then craft a personalized menu for you to suit your itinerary using fresh, local ingredients.

Prefer to explore restaurants ashore? Some yachts offer a half-board option, where you enjoy select meals onshore at your own expense. Let us know your preferences, and we’ll tailor the dining experience accordingly.

Every itinerary is bespoke. You'll have the opportunity to speak with your captain ahead of time to discuss your ideal trip. Whether you're looking for:

  • Hidden beaches and quiet anchorages
  • Snorkeling or exploring coral reefs
  • Lively beach bars and local cuisine
  • A special place to celebrate a milestone

Your captain will help build a flexible itinerary suited to your pace and interests. Please note, routes may change based on weather and sea conditions.

You’ll receive a preference sheet after booking. It covers your dietary preferences, allergies, drink selections, activities, and special requests. You’ll have a call with your crew before charter to discuss this sheet and your crew will use it to personalize your experience.

Each luxury crewed yacht is fully equipped for comfort and fun:

  • Private cabins with en-suite bathrooms (note: some smaller yachts may have shared bathrooms).
  • Air conditioning, water makers, some have ice makers, TVs, music systems, board games, the works!
  • Watertoys like paddleboards, kayaks, snorkel gear, and floating toys. Some yachts include scuba diving or yoga.
  • Most yachts offer Wi-Fi for guest use so you can be online when need be.

Yes! Yacht charters are fantastic for multi-generational families. Depending on your family’s needs, we’ll match you with the perfect yacht and crew. While crew can’t babysit, they are wonderful with children (swimming age and older). Stable catamarans are perfect for younger and older guests, and kids often love the adventure so much they can’t wait to return!

The booking process is pretty simple, here’s how it works:

  1. Enquire with us and our luxury crewed yacht specialist Kayleigh, will guide you through options tailored to your group and budget.
  2. Once you choose your yacht and crew, we’ll place a hold on your dates and issue a contract.
  3. A 50% deposit and a signed contract confirms the booking (or 25% if booked more than 6 months out).
  4. Once we have both your deposit and signed contract, your charter is confirmed!
  5. The balance is due 45 days prior to departure, along with your preference sheets.

We strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance to protect your investment.

Yes. We highly recommend trip cancellation insurance to protect against unexpected events such as flight delays, illness, or weather cancellations. We work with Insure My Trip for trusted vacation coverage.

Cancellations are non-refundable unless the yacht is rebooked for the same dates, in which case a partial refund is issued. Insurance is your best protection against unforeseen changes.

Yachts range from 45 to 80+ feet and always come with a captain and chef. Larger yachts may have additional crew.

Yes! No experience needed. Your captain handles all the sailing, but if you’d like to learn the basics, they’ll be happy to give you a few pointers. If you would like to learn how to sail, you can with our Horizon Sailing School in the BVI or St Vincent & The Grenadines.

You can get a taste of sailing from your captain, but luxury crewed charters don’t include formal instruction or certifications. If you would like to learn how to sail, you can with our Horizon Sailing School in the BVI or St Vincent & The Grenadines.

  • Minimum charter: 5 nights, however we recommend 6+ as the nightly rate for 6 night charters is often less than for 5 night charters.
  • Christmas/New Year Weeks: 7-night minimum.
  • Charters can often be extended based on availability—just let us know as soon as possible!

Yes! We offer flexible start days. Most charters begin and end around 12 noon.

Your charter broker is your personal charter concierge that’s completely free of charge. We listen to your needs, present the best yacht options, liaise with the crew, manage the booking, and support you before, during, and after your trip.

No, charter prices are standardized across all brokers. However, working with a local BVI broker gives you access to inside knowledge. Local brokers like ourselves, are often invited aboard yachts throughout the season to personally inspect and meet the crews, allowing us to offer yachts with an onboard experience we’ve experienced ourselves.

Yes. We’ve toured many of the yachts and know the crews well, and would only recommend yachts we would charter ourselves.

Yes! Start with your confirmed guests. Additional guests can be added before the final balance is due. We’ll simply update your contract, and the difference in rate will be added to your final payment.

The earlier, the better—especially for peak holiday weeks i.e. Christmas and New Year. Booking 6+ months in advance requires a 25% deposit as opposed to a 50% deposit after 6 months.

Typical gratuity is 15–20% of the charter fee, scaled to match level of service. Most crews prefer cash, but many accept PayPal, Wise, or other digital platforms.

An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) applies to some luxury charters outside the Virgin Islands (like the Med or Bahamas). It covers costs like provisioning, fuel, and dockage. The captain tracks expenses and any unused amount is refunded. This is typically a % of the charter rate and varies from yacht to yacht.

  • Caribbean High Season: November to July
  • Mediterranean Season: May to October

Some yachts reposition to the Windward Islands (St Vincent & The Grenadines) for summer between June and August and conduct their charters downisland. The Caribbean Hurricane Season runs from 1 June – 30 November with September being the height of Hurricane Season, however most yachts charter through to the end of July.

Daily cabin cleaning is standard. Most yachts don’t offer guest laundry, but fresh linens and towels are often provided mid-week.

Pack light, most crew’s rule of thumb is “Pack your bag. Now halve it!” Think swimsuits, light clothing, and minimal shoes. Essentials are provided onboard (toiletries, sunscreen, towels). Bring:

  • A light rain jacket
  • Sneakers if you plan to hike
  • Nice outfit for dining out

We recommend arriving the night before, as this ensures you’re ready to board at 12pm on your charter start date. Ask us for hotel and villa recommendations or about a stay and sail package.

Yes. Let us know your needs during the enquiry stage, and we’ll match you with a suitable yacht. Features like wide swim platforms, no-stair cabins, or bow access from inside are available on select yachts, but leave that up to us!

Yes! Birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, honeymoons—your crew will be honored to celebrate with you and can make the special occasion even more special with decorations, themed nights, and custom cakes.

Some yachts offer scuba diving onboard and details will change per yacht. However, if your yacht doesn’t offer diving onboard, your crew can arrange rendezvous diving with local dive operators to suit your itinerary.
