Horizon attends the 2024 USVI and BVI Charter Yacht Shows

November marks a very exciting point in the year for the luxury crewed yacht market and specifically for Kayleigh Starkey, Horizon’s luxury crewed yacht specialist as she gets to attend the annual USVI and BVI Charter Yacht Shows.

Every year, approximately 60 crewed yachts cruising the Caribbean get to show off their luxury yacht, crew, culinary magic and plethora of water toys to luxury crewed charter brokers from across the globe, Kayleigh being one of them.

Exploring the USVI Charter Yacht Show 

On the 7th of November, Kayleigh packed her bags and hopped on the 45-minute ferry ride to the neighboring island of St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands for a well-deserved escape from the Horizon office at Nanny Cay to wander around impressive crewed yachts at the USVI Charter Yacht Show. Kayleigh spent three days immersed in luxury, sampling culinary delights and exploring gorgeously appointed luxury crewed yachts, making sure to get a first-hand feel for what her guests will experience on each luxury crewed yacht. 

A standout was Chef Glen’s lunch aboard Mahasattva, a Lagoon 620.

Glen also won 1st place in the culinary contest, proving that Kayleigh’s taste buds might just know what they’re talking about.

Attending the BVI Charter Yacht Show No sooner had Kayleigh finished soaking up luxury in the USVI, than she had to do it all over again at the BVI Charter Yacht Show! Can you tell we’re slightly jealous over here? However, we must give her credit as, while indulging in delicious lunches and spoils may seem like a broker’s treat, Kayleigh is in full business mode as she takes note and makes notes to inform her clients looking for Caribbean as well as BVI luxury crewed yacht charters.  This year’s BVI Charter Yacht Show brought some great energy and exquisite yachts to Horizon’s home base, at Nanny Cay. Despite the uncooperative weather, the luxury crewed yachts were getting plenty of love and appreciation.  We could sense the positive vibes and see the hive of activity from our own F dock.  The 2024 BVI Charter Yacht Show was particularly exciting for Horizon, as our very own luxury crewed yacht, Endless Summer III, a brand-new Lagoon 65, made her BVI debut after a long journey from France via Annapolis and Bermuda.  The crew for Endless Summer III, Captain Harry Bowerman, Chef Martha Hall and First Mate/Stew Candace Flatley sailed the Lagoon 65 to the BVI after her popular showing at the Lagoon stand at the Annapolis Boat Show in October.  With the help of the Horizon Yacht Charters crew, Harry, Martha and Candace ensured Endless Summer III was looking immaculate and putting her best deck forward for the visiting brokers.

Accolades for Crewed Yacht Chefs

As expected, Endless Summer III attracted a great crowd of brokers. Chef Martha hosted two wonderful brokers’ lunches, accommodating an array of dietary needs. A fabulous accolade for ESIII was the 1st place win for Candace in the Best Cocktail category with her creation of the ‘Endless Sundowner’! 

Kayleigh’s had two other meals to remember, the first being Chef Ashley’s lunch onboard Bagheera – a Lagoon 620. It seems the Lagoon 620s’ chefs are on the money!

Second was Chef Yah Yah’s lunch on Scuba Doo – a Lagoon 50.
